Reputable cloud solution providers have dedicated's technical security staff constantly maintaining their systems and use  the same level of encryption that your bank does.

The simple fact is that if you have ever used a Wi-Fi hotspot in your local coffee shop, neglected to update the virus library on your personal firewall, or inadvertently opened a phishing email on your computer, there is a greater chance that your data is at risk on your personal device that it would ever be residing in the cloud.

Of course, not all cloud providers are created equal. The important thing is to do your due diligence when selecting a cloud solution. As long as you are dealing with a reputable company  you can rest assured that your data is safer in the cloud than it is on your own computer in most cases.
